I couldn’t be happier with the recent SCOTUS decision to allow same-sex couples to marry all across the United States. Congratulations to all who have fought for this monumental and pivotal moment in our country’s history! You stayed strong, your voices were heard, and most importantly, as always, love won out in the end. Awesome!

As someone who has worked in the wedding industry for almost 10 years, I’ve met so many gay couples who have had to leave Texas in order to tie the knot, only to come home for an unofficial “celebration of love” after the fact. While I’ve had the chance to play at some of these celebrations and they have been really wonderful parties, LGBT weddings in Texas and across the country are about to change the face of the wedding industry as we know it.

I’m pleased to say that I recently booked my first OFFICIAL same sex wedding here in Texas! Michelle & Melanie were planning to get married in Maui, but after the recent SCOTUS decision, opted instead for a celebration at home with their friends and family. I’m really looking forward to playing for them in Colleyville this October!
