I got some great news recently. DQB has been selected as a winner of the “Best of Weddings 2017” award by the world’s largest wedding website, TheKnot.com!
The award is given to wedding professionals who are selected by real couples- brides and grooms whom I’ve worked with directly and who took the time to leave their rave reviews on the site.
I’ve found a very unique role in the wedding industry, and I’m so happy to share my ideas and experience with new couples that approach me. One of the recurring themes in the reviews that I’ve received is that my experience, knowledge, and passion for what I do made things easier on couples. Weddings can be very stressful affairs for so many reasons, and it’s important for couples to take a step back and remember what they’re doing in the first place- celebrating!
See what couples have to say about working with DQB
I often tell prospective wedding clients that I don’t look at weddings as “gigs”- a term often used in the music industry for short jobs where I come in, play some music, and go home. Weddings are projects. I usually book weddings 6-12 months in advance, get to know my couples inside and out (literally, who they are, and who are the family and friends around them), how they met, what gets them excited, what jokes they share with their family, and who has the uncle that dances a mean Mick Jagger or should be kept away from the microphone at all costs.
We always take the time to walk through their wedding venue, work with other vendors like caterers, photographers, and videographers, and assure that we operate as smoothly as possible on the day of the event- and I guess it’s working!
Getting married should be an exciting time, and it’s such an honor that so many couples have trusted me to provide the soundtrack to one of the most significant days of their lives.
Whether playing traditional music for your wedding ceremony, looping in some upbeat acoustic grooves for your cocktail hour, introducing your bridal party like each one of them is a rockstar, or packing a dance floor with thumping beats from the DJ booth, we’re going to have a lot of fun on your wedding day. All of the hard work happens beforehand and behind the scenes- and on the day of, we get to celebrate!
If you’re engaged or know someone who is planning to get married soon, please be in touch! In addition to weddings in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, I travel throughout Texas, and sometimes even hop on a plane to perform. Recent events include a wedding in New Jersey and a corporate event in Baltimore, and I’m excited to be flying to Tampa, FL for a wedding in 2017!
Wishing you all a fun-filled holiday season and a Happy New Year!
